I read this title for the Romance week of my Adult Pop Lit class, and I found it has many parallels to Fifty Shades of Grey. While I found the writing better than Fifty Shades of Grey (and without the excruciating inner dialogue), there were problematic instances of possessiveness and male dominance. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it's also a series so the story does continue. This book does discuss abuse and its psychological effects, and I found this a compelling component in comparison to FSOG.
Oh. My. Freaking. God.
I don't even know where to start with a review for this book. Move over Christian Grey, 'cause I'm totally smitten with Gideon Cross. Holy cow.
This story was amazing. Total chick-lit crack. Good grief. And the sudden ending? TOTES NOT COOL. Is it October yet? I need more.
Brilliant. Engaging. Sexy. Edgy. Angsty. All things I love, all wrapped up in one dysfunctionally appealing package.
I cannot wait for instalment number two!
Guest 2 years agoI loved this book, not for the inappropriate scenes, but more for the love story that blooms underneath.
Of course the cover kinda drew me in, because I will be the first to admit that I love reading erotica, but the story is so beautiful and endearing, it completely overrides the erotic parts, because love is beautiful.
Guest 3 years agoCary Taylor? Sounds a lot like Corey Taylor. ............................................................
Guest 5 years agoSome similar book series are, the k2 series, the program series and the other book series by the same author, and two cabins one lake two captains one chair. (Not to be mixes up with two girls one cup.) If you do read these books hope you like them!
Guest 5 years agoBy the way, it reminded me of fifty shades darker at many places. Like "MINE" and "SHARING A SCENE IN THE BREAKFAST BAR" etc etc....but anyway the book was very good. I loved it.....
Guest 5 years agosuch an amazing book, cant wait for Deeper in You.
Guest 5 years agoThe front cover is INAPPROPRIATE! I won't read any of these "inappropriate" stuff. If you do, then... I don't know how you would explain it.
Guest 3 years agoI don't know why you would literally go to the trouble to open up a book in a genre you don't support and make a comment. Your judgement is useless here.
Guest 5 years agoI'll take the end of this book as the happy ever after. I don't really want to read the second. I already read 50 shade of Grey and I don't want to read another one like it again. But I liked that book through. The sex scenes was never the same. So they were not boring.
Guest 5 years agoI love it, this book is apart of the "50 Shades of Grey" saga. So if you don't have an open mind don't read it its that simple ! GREAT BOOK
