EloquentElixir says: I love the idea of the Infernal Devices having a manga version but I still preferred the original books. This is book two of the TID manga edition and my only suggestion is to read the original book series first before getting into the mangas because you could get lost in the story considering the stories are abbreviated for the manga editions. I also couldn't really get into the story through the manga as I would with the original full book because (as I said before) the story has been shorted with not as much details.Overall, I still like these mangas, I think they're a great little addition to anyone's TMI and TID collection. It's also a quick read so if you want to "reread" any of the Infernal Devices books but don't necessarily have the time then I would go with this editions. mackenziedavidson8 says: 3.5 starsIt seems like these graphic novels really focus on the political conflicts rather than the characters and relationships, which is sorta upsetting because I... really, really loved Jem in this book and that aspect of it got a bit lost with this translation. Nevertheless, the art in here is so stunning and this trilogy is so well-done that I had to give it the credit it deserves, just as a well-concocted storyline.MoreLessShow More Show Less

He still spoke with a slight Welsh accent, a roll to his vowels that would have been charming if his tone hadn’t been so sour. He drew his sleeve across his forehead as she came partway through the door, then paused. “I’ve been looking for you for hours,”, Everyone, this is where I am at in the book. It sucks, I want to be at the end already to find out what happens, I think I have anxiety ppl. This book made me read as if my life depended on it. If I hadn't have read this book, but heard of it, I would have totally died of unknowing of what the story is abt.

Guest 5 years agoIt was a fast read novel that made me read as if my life depended on it. I loved the romance between Tessa and Will and found frustrating how Tessa couldn't just love Will wholeheartedly. I couldn't and still don't understand how ANYONE can love two individuals at the same time. It brighten my mood when at the end Tessa and Will were engaged. My mood soured in the epilogue. . . with each word I read my heart got torn apart as I found out that Will had died! I knew Tessa was Immortal but still to read about the after and how Will(sweet sarcastic Will)grew old and eventually died had made me cry. . . I didn't like how at the end Tessa ended up Jem(Brother Zachariah). Didn't like how the author said at the end that the circle had finally been closed. It made it sound as if Tessa's great love was Jem and not Will. While I understand that Jem had a right to be happy also, as a Team Will member I was grieving Will's death. . . would of wished that the ending of the trilogy could of ended with Will and Tess and without a glimpse into the future-but then again it's nice to know what happened to everyone. . . even if the future was full of pain and death(even though happy moments were also mentioned). Even if Will would of be happy for both Tessa and Jem since he was dead and wouldn't want Tessa to stay alone forever(living in a memory of him and suffer) I still didn't like the ending since I couldn't stop crying. . . but knowing that Will would of approve of both Tessa and James makes this ending bearable. The ending did leave questions out in the open like how did Jem find a cure?
Guest 5 years agoThis book is part of a series, it's the prequel series to the Mortal Instruments. How Jem found a cure is written in the 6th book of that series, City of Heavenly Fire. (SPOILER ALERT: How he got cured is in the title)
