protect myself.”
Jessi nods and lies back on my bed. “So tell me about this amazing sex you had. What was his name again?”
“Caleb, he was arrogant, demanding, dominant, and I swear to god, his penis was made for me. I’ve never had sex like that before. He did things to me that I just can’t explain.” I sigh and Jessi looks over at me and laughs.
“And you don’t want to date him because . . .”
“Because he doesn’t have an accent, he’s kind of a jerk, and I don’t want to date him.”
“Sounds like you were surprised by how much you really did like him but decided to run away because you’re scared.”
“I am not scared of Caleb. He’s hot and good in bed, but he’s also not my type at all.”
“Because he doesn’t have an accent.”
“Exactly! See, this is why you’re my best friend, Jessi. You get me.”
She rolls her eyes and flops on her stomach. She opens her mouth to say something, but there is a loud thumping on the door that startles us both. “Are you expecting someone?” She asks.
“Nope, are you?”
“No.” She gets up from the bed and walks over to our door. When she opens it, I groan. How the hell did he find me?
“Well, hello there Mr. Sexy. Are you lost or just looking for a good time? Either way, I’m your girl!”
“Actually, I’m looking for her.”
He points to me and motions for me to come talk to him. He actually does that come-hither finger thing people do when someone is in trouble and are to join whoever is mad at them immediately. Is he a stalker? How in the fuck did Caleb find me? He’s wearing a tight white shirt and denim jeans. He looks quite fuckable, and that’s infuriating.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t come for fingers,” I yell. “What the hell are you doing here? And how did you find out where I lived?”
“I know from experience that you do come for fingers, especially mine. You were easy to find. It took some massive digging, a few favors, but after about twenty phone calls, I was able to track you down. We need to talk, Everly.”
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
“Get up, get over here, and come talk to me,” Caleb demands.
“You can’t order me around, Caleb, I have nothing to say to you. I told you what happened would only be one night, so really, there’s no reason for you to be here.”
“Excuse me,” Caleb pushes past Jessi, walks straight up to me, picks me up from my chair and carries me out of the room.
“Wow, that’s fucking hot,” Jessi exclaims as we pass her.
“What are you, a Neanderthal? Put me down, Caleb.” I pound on his back, but I barely budge him. He carries me straight out of the building, right to his car. “What the hell? I’m not going anywhere with you.” I manage to wiggle out of his arms and contemplate screaming for help. Maybe a campus police officer will come and arrest him.
“I just want to talk. Here, you can have my keys, and then you will know we aren’t going anywhere. I just want ten minutes of your time, that’s all.” I take the keys from him and shove them into my pocket. He opens the door, to a fucking Lexus of all things, and helps me in.
“You have ten minutes,” I tell him.
“Look, I know you said I’m not your type because I don’t talk the way you want me to, and I get the other night was supposed to be a one-night-stand, but I can’t stop thinking about you, Everly.” He runs a nervous hand through his hair and growls in frustration. “I’m not used to this. I don’t usually chase after women like some crazy psycho. It drove me bonkers when I woke up and you were gone. I tried to forget about you but couldn’t. That night we had together kept coming back to me. Not only was it the best sex I’ve ever had, but there’s something about you that I can’t shake. I’ve never met a girl that keeps me on my toes like you do, let alone, puts me in my place and calls me on my shit. This is all new to me, and as crazy as it sounds, Everly, I
