tomorrow, and what time the after party starts?”
“I’ll leave around seven-thirty in the morning and be at the show by eight. Hopefully I finish by five pm. But the party doesn’t start till seven, so I’ll have time to come back here and change, and we can go together.”
“That sounds perfect. I’m looking forward to having you on my arm tomorrow night.”
“Oh, I’m sure I’ll be beating the women off with a stick with you on my arm.”
He shakes his head in modesty.
“Before I forget, my father asked me to join him for dinner next week. I told him I’d be bringing someone. I was hoping you would join me.”
Several things run through my mind when he asks me this. This seems soon, and meeting his family is a big step.
“Of course, Nathan. It would be an honor,” I say, instead of voicing my concerns.
“I know he’ll love you. I really want you two to meet.”
    Love?
“Well, how could I refuse an offer like that? I’d love to go.” I smile at him, feeling anxious about this future meeting, but I keep that to myself.
“That was a lovely dinner, Nathan. Very special,” I say, but before he can reply, my phone rings. “I can’t imagine who’s calling. Sorry. I’ll be a minute.”
“Hello?” I sigh quietly. “Mr. Atkins. Yes, of course I remember. What time will be good for you? I can make that work. A drink? Now?” I wish my brain would think of the perfect thing to say on the fly, but that always comes to me later. “I’m sorry, but I have plans. I’ll definitely see you tomorrow. Yes, I’ll be there too. I agree. It sounds fun. Okay, we’re set. Thank you. Goodbye.” I end the conversation as quick as possible.
Turning, I see Nathan with one eyebrow cocked. “Work?”
“Yes. Mr. Atkins can be forward at times.”
“You think?” He sounds sarcastic. “Calling you well into the evening and wanting you to join him for a drink? I’m glad I’ll be escorting you tomorrow.” A look of possessiveness glitters in his eyes.
“Well, it’s not as if you have to pee all around me, but, yes, he needs to know what’s appropriate and what’s not.” I attempt a bit of humor. “Let’s enjoy our evening.”
    “I plan on it, baby.”

Chapter Nine

“SIT.” NATHAN PATS the couch beside him.
    “You’ve started a fire.”
    “I love fireplaces.”
“Yes. It’s on my top ten list.”
“Top ten? I’m afraid to ask.”
“The top ten things I want to do with you,” he says. “Hey, don’t judge.”
“Judge? Why would I judge? I think it’s sweet.”
“I beg to differ. It’s all about sex.” he teases.
“You’re right. It’s sexy. Now give me another one off the list.”
“Well, that depends.” He tucks a curl behind my ear.
“On?” I feel a little lightheaded from his touch.
“On how much you trust me.”
    “Mmmhmm.”
    Trust .
His fingertips move up and down my arm ever so softly. It’s quiet. No music. All I hear is his breath and my heartbeat increasing by the minute.
“Allow me.” He sets his glass down on the tray placed on the ottoman and takes mine from my hand. His hand rises to my face and he softly strokes my cheek with his palm. Face to face, eye to eye. Everything intensifies. He searches my eyes for the answer. I’m sure he’s wondering where has this connection come from because I’m thinking the same thing. A fire burns in the pit of my stomach, and I know this will be more than just sex.
“I need all of you.” His lips slide over mine, teasing me. His tongue joins in and I open for him, receiving the hottest, slowest, sexiest kiss I’ve ever had.
“Bryer,” he whispers my name, lips barely touching we share a breath.
    “You’re the sex whisperer.”
He breaks away and smiles. “I thought I was your sex god?”
“That too, but I like discovering this side as well,” I murmur, still in a haze from his kiss.
“And which do you prefer, baby?” he whispers against my lips.
    “All. I want it
