seriously. Vincent frowned, knowing it was true.
“I have a lot of work to do with you… but I won’t give up on you...” In a matter of minutes she had him working up a sweat and throwing punches left and right at the punching bag, turning him into an adrenaline filled punching machine.
“Stagger your legs. A strong base makes for a stronger punch!” She yelled at him, cheering him on, making him punch harder and harder until his arms were sore. Even through the pain he continued to train with her, motivated by her voice, and of course, her good looks. After about an hour, they stopped. Vincent collapsed in exhaustion, breathing hard.
Cassandra handed him a bottle of water and smiled. “You did well. I am proud of you.” She placed a hand on his shoulder, looking at him. As she did, a tall man with orange shorts walked into the ring. They looked at him. Vincent suddenly tensed up.
“Benjamin Clevosky,” Cassandra looked at him, her eyes lighting up. Benjamin was her favorite fighter in the Triple S and he was the current heavyweight champion. She used to love watching his matches with her father when he was still healthy. “It’s an honor. I am a big fan.” Benjamin smirked at her. Vincent looked away, a frown on his face.
“So… the Baby Brazilian is being trained by a girl now. How pathetic.” The man’s Russian accent was thick as he said the words and walked closer to Vincent. Cassandra frowned as she heard the hostility in the man’s voice. What did this man have against Vincent?
For the first time, Vincent got up and faced his enemy. He looked at him and squared up to him even though he was significantly shorter than the Russian man.
“Oh, are you a tough guy now? Huh? Well… you won’t be tough for long…” He smirked about to pull back and punch Vincent when Cassandra suddenly stepped between the two men. Benjamin looked down at her and scoffed.
“You have a woman fight your fights for you now too? You are too pathetic to hit, Brazilian.” The Russian glared at Vincent, who tried to stay confident despite the humiliation he felt. He felt ashamed that Cassandra had to stand up for him. He wanted to be able to fight like a real man and stand up to men like Benjamin.
Cassandra glared at the Russian before he finally left the ring. “Wow… I didn’t know that guy was a total asshole. He isn’t getting my support anymore…” She said as she turned around and looked at Vincent. “Why was he such a jerk to you?” She asked.
“I don’t know… but he has always treated me badly. It’s probably because I am new around here.” Vincent answered honestly.
“I think he is just intimidated,” Cassandra said, looking at Vincent, who looked skeptical. A deep laugh suddenly filled the room.
“You think I am intimidated by this small man?” Benjamin called out from the top of the steps. Cassandra looked at him, walking up to the fence surrounding the ring.
“I know you are,” she said, confidently. Benjamin laughed once more. “In fact, Vincent challenges you to a fight.” There was a pause. “For the heavyweight title!”
Chapter 6
Benjamin looked at the woman, a little surprised. Was this woman being serious? He stopped a moment to look at her, reading her face. He suddenly burst out laughing. “If you want to kill his career and put him in the hospital, be my guest. The match will be at the end of the month.” He said before walking out of the
