tutted. “First it was Richie Rich the Mother basher and now it's Mr hot shot!”
“You like Mr hot shot” I laughed.
“George, just to clarify I don't like any man who man handles my daughter!”
“Dad!” I said with disgust. Why did he always have to talk his mind? Really, sometimes he was such a grumpy old fart.
“When is this wedding day?” He asked.
                  “I don't know.”
“Will you actually be going through with it this time? Last time you just wasted my time.”

I rolled my eyes. “Sorry for the inconvenience that is my life” I tutted.
“Apology excepted” he said in a rude manner.
I thought Maxwell could be frustrating by my Dad could take it to a whole new extreme. I shook my head. “I was thinking about coming to visit you one weekend.”
                  “Why?”
“To catch up with you, Caitlyn and Dee.”
“What do you want to see her for? She is driving me crazy. Caitlyn of course is fussing around her.”
A little smile came to my lips. Was he jealous? Wasn't he getting attention from his wife.“Your excited about the baby, don't deny it.”
“As much as a hole in the head” he joked. “Maybe a little” his toned changed. “Right, call me when you know what your doing. Maybe I'll plan a holiday myself that weekend.”
“I love you, Dad” I said, ignoring his remark.
“Love you too” he put the phone down and my mouth was wide open. Did he just confess he loved me? He was getting old!
“What's with the goofy look?” Maxwell smiled towering over me.
I looked at the phone in my hand and then up at him. His hands were full of paperwork. Looked like my afternoon was planned for me.
“I just spoke to my Dad” placing the phone back. “I said we would go and see him one weekend. Well, if that is okay with you?”
He gave a little nod. “Anything you want.” He placed the huge pile of paperwork on my desk. “Did you tell him?” He said quietly and looking around.
I mocked his actions. “Yes.... What's with the whispering?”
A little smirk appeared on his lips and his blue eyes lit up. Wow, he was very sexy and irresistible. “I have a little something planned and I don't want anyone round here knowing just yet!”
I gave a bemused look. Everyone knew we were a couple, so what was the point of hiding our engagement. Especially considering the huge rock I had on my finger.
I leant forward. “So what is this plan?”
“All in good time, Miss Dawson. All in good time!” He winked and strolled back into his office. I placed my head in my hands and let out a deep breath. Why did this all feel too good to be true? Did I deserve this much happiness? Then a wave of sadness hit me... My best friend?
Maybe I had overreacted with the whole her and Blake thing. Why did I act that way? I didn't love Blake. In fact I had stopped loving him from the moment I had met Maxwell. At the end of the day both Amy and Blake both deserved to be happy. I should be happy for my friend and I was. Finally she had met the right person. It was just a coincidence it was Blake. But you couldn't stop falling in love with someone. That I knew too well. I had an urge to call her and maybe met up for a drink. I didn't like us not talking. Deep down I really missed her. I pulled my phone out from my draw
