kissed the top of her head.
“Just when you’re ready to come—”
    “From that?”
“Yes,” he replied, smiling, “you’ll get very aroused. Once
you’re accustomed to being touched and opened, I’ll use that desire to both
reward and punish you in the future.”
She licked his chest and he forced himself to hold her and
not crush her against his skin.
“And then you’ll let me climax?”
“No. I’ll insert a thin, flexible probe. It will swell
inside you, keeping those nerves nice and tight, stretched and alive. Once it’s
placed, I’ll roll you to your back and make you spread. That’s when I’ll get to
sample you. That’s when I’ll fuck you slowly, thoroughly and make you accept my
cock.”
“Oh,” she groaned, rubbing her cheek over his chest. She
actually wetted his thigh with her pussy juices.
He kissed her harshly, reminding her that her refusal had
made them both suffer. She responded to the kiss as if she’d die without it.
She arched her back and offered her breasts. Her legs parted, giving him access
to her pussy.
Even after he’d spanked her, she remained filled with
desire. Perhaps it could be due to the punishment. Maybe she’d never thought
about the role of a submissive. It didn’t mean she couldn’t like it once she’d
been introduced.
Possibilities flooded his mind, forcing his body to tighten
with arousal. They’d no time to form anything but the most basic of bonds.
There’d be no future. The only path for them was mired in darkness and
bloodshed. Why then did his chest swell with warmth as tender thoughts of their
union clouded his thinking?
With any luck at all, she would escape with her life.

Chapter Five

Jacob placed Sage onto the bed, stood, retrieved his pants
and sauntered into the relief area. What did he expect her to do? Would he want
her to lie there and wait for his return? Would he begin the examination all
over? She couldn’t bear it at the moment and sat, dangling her legs over the
edge.
To clear her mind, she scanned the room, looking for a route
of escape. The windows sat high on the stone walls. Too high to climb up and
reach. Additionally, bars stretched over them, ending any possibility of
getting away through that particular route.
The huge room had several purposes. The large bed with four
smooth, shiny rock columns occupied a fourth of the room. The dining table
could accommodate ten. The relief area, by modern standards was huge and
spacious. And then she glanced at the corner farthest away, mired in shadow.
She stared at what lay there as her mind tried to process what she saw.
Embedded into the wall were shackles at different heights.
An odd sort of bench with restraints sat there too. Bindings, whips, rods and
paddles were perched here and there.
Jacob touched her cheek and she shrieked, drawing her legs
up before scooting away. The man who’d aroused her couldn’t be the same man
who’d keep torture items close at hand. Could he? “Were you placed here after
the takeover, or has this always been your room?”
He lowered his hand to his side. “After a time, I was
permitted to reside here, in my original room. Why?”
Her stomach turned as a clammy, cold feeling washed over
her. Her teeth chattered as she conjured images of what might’ve taken place in his room. Although he’d been forced to punish her, she thought she’d
detected regret from him both times.
She’d been mistaken. Sadly, badly mistaken. Had she believed
he regretted the brutality so she could trust him to help? Had she conjured
imaginary things to trick herself into maintaining the hope she’d eventually
escape?
When he reached for her, she scrambled to avoid his touch.
    “Sage?”
She kept glancing at the corner filled with torture
instruments, knowing she’d never survive a night at his mercy.
“Come to me.” He held out his hand, a veil of hardness
descended over him. He hadn’t asked a question. He’d issued a command.
    His lips moved
