fuckin’ job and get us something to eat out here!”

“Kitchen’s closed.” Alia says, sternly. “Just sit down and drink your beer. Actually…” She says, pointing towards the door. “There’s a vending machine in the entrance. It’s got some pretty good chips and stuff.”

“If I wanted chips, I would have stayed home.” He says, walking around the bar towards the double doors to the kitchen.

“Hey!” She says, running over to the door. “Hey, you can’t go back there! You can’t go in the kitchen, sir…”

Alia steps between the doors and the bearded man, pointing back towards the bar.

“Come on, man.” She says. “Join your friend, drink your beer, we’re closing soon and the kitchen’s already closed.”

“Get out of my fucking way.” He says, pushing Alia out of the way and into the corner of the bar.

“Ah!” She gasps, sucking in her breath as she grabs at her poked ribs.

“Do you have a problem, asshole!?” She hears a deep voice yell from across the bar.

Alia looks up, gulping as she watches a tall, dark haired man in a worn leather jacket and a tight pair of jeans walk toward them.

“It’s alright, don’t worry about it…” Alia says, trying to get between them before stepping out of the way quickly as the new man brushes past her.

She rushes for her phone, ready to dial the local police as she watches him grab the bearded man by the shoulders before pulling him across the floor.

“She said the kitchen’s closed, so that means the kitchen’s fucking closed, understand?” He says, his voice a growl as he pushes the bearded man towards the door.

“Whatever, dude.” The guy says, raising his voice to call out to his friend still sitting at the bar. “Let’s get out of here, this place is a shit hole!”

“Leave it here.” Alia says, grabbing the two bottles as the guy’s friend gets up from his stool. “You can’t take it outside. Get going. I’m about to call the police.”

The guy nods, walking away to follow his friend outside, stepping around the tall man as he walks out the door.

Alia huffs, rubbing her fingers over her forehead as she walks over to the double doors in the kitchen.

“Jesus Christ!” She says, holding her hands up in the air as she gazes across the kitchen towards Jason as he washes the last of the dishes. “Some people are crazy! They don’t listen!”

“People can get really nasty when the kitchen’s closed.” Jason shouts across the kitchen. “You get used to it after a while.”

Alia nods, taking another deep breath before walking back out into the bar.

“What a jerk, right?” She hears the same deep voice as before say to her.

She blushes, nodding her head slightly as she looks up from her feet, her eyes gazing over his sharp jaw before resting on his ice blue eyes.

“Some people just want to cause trouble I guess.” She whispers, walking towards him and leaning her elbows on the counter in front of him. “Thank you though.” She starts. “I was honestly a little nervous when I saw you walking over. I thought there was going to be a big fight.”

“I have a little rule.” He says, reaching over to grab the half empty beer bottle on the bar top, before slightly tipping it over to read the label. “I don’t fight in front of pretty girls…”

Alia giggles, covering her mouth with her hand before pressing her fingers against her hot cheeks.

“I tell you what…” Alia says, turning around and reaching over to beside the hand sink to pick up a damp rag before bending down to grab a bottle of cleaner. “We’re closing soon. Stick around for a little while after and I’ll buy you a few shots.”

“Yeah.” He says, leaning back slightly in his stool. “Yeah, maybe I will stick around. I’m Leon, by the way.”

“Leon?” She confirms, flashing her teeth as she tries
