but I really couldnât hear much. When Frick talked, she peered over her black-framed glasses at Jaylin and then looked back at Frick. Her eyes scanned the paperwork again, and then she asked for Jaylin to come up front. When he stood up, somebody whistled. The judgeâs head snapped up, and she looked over at the bailiff.
âIf that happens again, find out who it was and throw them out of here. I said quiet,â she yelled.
Once Jaylin was up front, the prosecutor rose up and stood beside Jaylin. It was a double whammy to have both the prosecutor and my attorney working on this case. That sucker Frick had his work cut out for him, and when I heard Jaylinâs voice rise, I knew all hell was about to break loose.
âFlight risk,â he said, loud enough for everyone to hear. Frick placed his hand on Jaylinâs chest and said something to my attorney and the prosecutor. The judge tuned in, shaking her head from side to side.
âIâm not going to deal with this right now,â she said, loud enough for everyone to hear, too. âYour client will receive no special treatment, Mr. Frick, and he will have to wait.â
Just then, I could have fainted when I saw âstand by your man no matter whatâ Nokea. The bitch was too proud to take a seat, so she stood by the door with her arms folded. The only thing I could say was the ho was clean. She wore a dark blue suit with a short skirt that hugged her curvaceous hips. Underneath was a hot pink silk blouse, a matching scarf was thrown around her neck, and she wore strappy dark blue stilettos. Her layered hair was cut short and was spiked a bit in the front. Makeup was flawless, and the ring on her finger was blinding. As his wife, she didnât have to let it be known, because âproperty of Jaylin Jerome Rogersâ was written all over her. Bitch, I thought. Years of lying on her back had surely paid off.
Frustrated, I turned my head, and things got even more heated. Apparently, Jaylinâs interruptions were out of line, and the judge made it perfectly clear to him that if he didnât shut his mouth, she would ask him to leave.
âWell, if I leave, Iâm going home,â he said.
The prosecutor quickly spoke up. âThis is why Mr. Frickâs client is considered a flight risk. If he leaves, I assure you that heâs going to become a fugitive.â
Normally, Frick wouldâve spoken up, but he didnât say nothing. Jaylin was fired up, and when he turned around to calm himself, he looked to the far back and saw Nokea. He stared without cracking a smile, and so did she. When she rolled her eyes and looked away, he turned back around. I was cracking up inside because this was so hilarious. It was obvious that Nokea was mad at him, but I was sure that it wasnât nothing that a little ... big dick wouldnât cure.
Either way, Jaylin got what he deserved. His mouth kept running, and not only did the judge deny his request to go home, but she also threatened to have him jailed for a long time if he didnât âplay by the rules.â
Nokea was so angry that she walked out. Jaylin was about to rush after her, but the judge stopped him before he stepped away.
âWhen I see you again, Mr. Rogers, make sure youâre on time in my courtroom, and do not interfere when Iâm speaking. Do you understand?â
Jaylin didnât respond, so Frick spoke up for him. âHe understands, Your Honor.â
She got loud and ignored Frick. âMr. Rogers, do you understand what I just said?â
The courtroom was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. Jaylin turned to the judge, held his arms in front of him, and looked at her. âSorry, but I donât take orders.â
There were more than a few snickers, so she slammed down her gavel and quickly called for the bailiff. âGet him out of here. I donât have time for nonsense today. Next!â
I wanted to stand up and jump
