Jenna picked up the phone to hear Mike’s deep voice, “Hey babe, I’m really sorry, but I have to pull a double, I can’t make it to dinner.”
“It’s our anniversary though.”  everything okay?”  Jeff a
“Yeah, but the hospital needs me tonight, I can’t leave them shorthanded.”
“I know I’m just being selfish wanting to spend some time with you.”
“I’ll make it up to you I promise.  So do you want to know what your present is?”  He laughed.
“No Mike I can wait.”   Though she had an idea what it might be, she would rather be surprised.
    “Hey.”
    “Yeah.”
    “I love you.”
“I love you too Mike.  Have a good night at work.”  She hung up the phone and walked over to the couch.  “Damn now those reservations are for nothing.”  She had gotten them a table at one of Tucson’s top restaurants and had hoped to go.
She sat thinking back to three years ago when she had first met Mike.  It had been at some party that was for a bunch of up and rising stars in the area.  He had come up to her, looking very handsome in his white tux.
“Hi, so tell me are you here for the party?”  He had said his deep voice filling her ears with warmth.
“No, is this a party?”  She had asked him back.
It was then that he smiled a huge smile and laughed so loud that many people turned around to see what the two were doing.  She noticed that he had the cutest dimples on his cheeks, his teeth were whiter than white, and she loved the sound of his laugh.
She took in the full package estimating him at about 6’1”, dark black hair, beautiful blue eyes that just sparkled so much.  He looked like a doctor to her, and funny thing was, that’s exactly what he was.
“I’m Mike Davis; it’s nice to find someone with a humor.”  He put out his hand to shake hers.  It swallowed hers up like a tiny fruit on a tree.
“I’m Jenna Upshaw, and I know what you mean there aren’t many people in here who like to joke.”
“Must be a room full of lawyers.”  He had cracked.
Jenna had laughed heartily, “and why do you say that?”

“They have absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever.”
“Oh I see, so I take it you’re not a lawyer, what do you do?”  She inquired.
“I’m a doctor at Desert Memorial.”
“Yeah you look like a doctor.”
“What about you, has to be something exciting?”
“Yeah it sure is I’m a lawyer.”
He coughed on his drink almost choking.  “Oh hey, sorry about the joke.”
“It’s okay I know them all!”

As the night progressed they continued talking and pretty much ignored most of the other people at the party.  Many times they would break into laughter that would draw stares from those around them.  But neither of them cared, it was at the end of the night as they were walking out that he asked if he could call her sometime.
“So can I have your number Jenna Upshaw?”
“Well I guess so Mike Davis.”

As Mike hung up the phone he laughed, “Man that is just so darn easy.”
“Hey there.”  He heard the sultry voice say lowly.
“Well if it’s not my favorite nurse, Nurse Jenkins.”  His eyes roamed over her well endowed body.
“Yes it is and I see my favorite doctor, and he looks awfully happy for some reason.”
“I got the night free, told Jenna I was pulling a double.”
She jumped up and down, “Oh goody, I know what I want to do.”
He grabbed her and squeezed her tightly.  “I know what I’m going to do to you!”  He growled.
Mike looked at Nurse Nancy Jenkins and his blood boiled hot.  It wasn’t just the fact that she had a body that would kill, but that she was willing to have some fun.  Jenna wanted to wait until they were married to make love as she called it.  But to Mike he just wanted to be able to have sex for the fun of it.  Nancy was a beauty, but Mike knew that if he played around too much she would become attached.  And well Mike wasn’t looking
