beat the opposing team St Helens.
The whistle blew and they were off, he chased up the field to get in the thick of the action and tackled the player coming towards him. Leeds held firm and got the ball and attached up field. Aaron caught the ball and ran up the field and before being tackled threw the ball to Matt who managed to get through a break in St Helens defence and sprinted to the try line and got the ball down for the first try of the game. Aaron celebrated with Matt and then waited for Neil to kick the conversion over.
He avoided looking into the stand to see if Imogen was there as he needed to concentrate but he felt her presence. It lifted him and he had fallen for her and wanted to make their relationship more serious but he had to put it out of his mind and concentrate on the game. They needed to win this one to secure their position at the top of the table and win the league and be in the best position for the Grand Final playoffs.
They kicked off again. They battled for the ball and soon St Helens had managed to get through Leeds and score a try.
The scores were even and each team fought to get good position and fight to each other’s try line. Half time siren sounded and they were still tie on the score.
Aaron was frustrated as he made a couple of mistakes in the first half and was determined to rectify that in the second half.

Imogen was biting her fingernails as the second half progressed. Both teams had scored tries again but Neil had missed the conversion making Leeds trail behind St Helens by 2 points. It was the second game she had come to and she loved it but it was nerve-racking as each team battled it out and some of the tackles knocked her breath away. It looked so brutal as the players clashed and brought each other to the ground. They were in the last 5 minutes of the game and Leeds had to score a try to win but St Helens were making it hard for them and Leeds were defending their line tirelessly. But as St Helens threw the ball to their winger Aaron intercepted it and started to sprint down the field. Imogen along with Meg stood up and screamed as Aaron ran evading the chasing players and starting to slide along the ground to reach the try line and score the winning try. The whole stadium erupted as Aaron stood back up as all the team members rushed to celebrate. A hush came over the crowd as Neil set up the ball to kick the conversion. He stood waiting like he was calming himself and then he went for it and the ball seemed to go in slow motion as it headed for the posts and Imogen couldn’t work out if it went through the posts or not but the crowd erupted again as the game officials raised their flags in confirmation of the goal.
They kicked off again for the last couple of minutes and it seemed the time went slow as Leeds fought to keep their lead and not let St Helens through. As it reached the last 10 seconds the crowd started to count down and the siren went to signal the end of the game and Imogen cheered along with the rest of the fans as they celebrated Leeds winning the game.
Imogen could feel her heart pumping hard as the rush of watching the game had captivated her. She was pleased for Aaron as he seem tense for the past couple of days and she knew that they needed to win.
It was amazing to see him do that try and just watching him had her hot and bothered. She hoped he wasn’t too tired from the game as she needed him again. They waited in the stands as the team received the League Leader’s Shield and then do the walk around the ground signing the kids shirts and autograph books.
“Come on, let’s go and get some drinks, they might be a while.” Meg led them to the players’ lounge.
This time Meg introduced Imogen to a few of the wives and girlfriends and they chatted as they waited for their men to come in.
Imogen’s body tingled as she sensed Aaron had come into the room. As she waited for him to get to her he she realised how much she had fallen in love
