she wasn’t shocked by Barbara’s brief attempt at a sexual assault. She knew all about Barbara’s perversions. She also knew what had caused them.
But she was well aware that this was no time for Barbara’s uncontrollable lust to take over. They had things to do.
Inside the greenhouse, they heaved Vivienne’s body on to a wooden chair. Then, once more, Barbara took control. First she tied Vivienne’s wrists together. Pulling the knot so tight she could feel her victim wince with pain. Then she got down on her knees and began wrapping the rope around Vivienne’s ankles. Barbara pulled rigidly on the rope to make sure it really was secure. But she was aware that Vivienne’s thighs were parting right in front of her very face. Despite tightly tying those ankles together, Vivienne was showing Barbara what was there. Her thighs were opening wider and wider now. Inviting Barbara to push her hand up there and probe.
Barbara’s breathing speeded up. She was having difficulty containing herself. She wanted to let her hand wander up there and explore the soft mound. Vivienne’s thighs were on a level with her face as Barbara crouched there on both knees. She looked into Vivienne’s eyes. They weren’t staring at her as you might expect. There was no fear in them. Theywere saying, ‘Do it. Go on do it!’
Vivienne was fighting for her life the only way she knew how – by acquiescing. This might be her only chance for survival. She would do anything to save herself. She would have opened those thighs to the entire world if it gave her another few minutes longer to fight back.
Barbara was trying to contain herself now. She was trying to resist the urge for self-gratification because that is what it would have been. She was just a few inches away from the most sexual part of any woman’s body. It was there waiting for her to finger and more. Much more.
‘Fucking hell, Babs. Let’s just finish her off. Forget all that, you dirty cow.’
Vivienne had just lost her final battle to live.
Barbara and Karen began to construct a makeshift gallows before Vivienne’s very eyes. She was forced to watch as they made the method of her murder absolutely clear to her.
Barbara knotted the rope into a large noose and then threaded it through a long metal ladder that was fastened across the roof of the greenhouse. Vivienne struggled desperately. She rocked back and forth on the chair in a bid to fall over. She succeeded just as Barbara stood on another chair to test the effectiveness of their do-it-yourself gallows.
She jumped down and bundled Vivienne back upright. Karen then held her down by the shoulders to make sure it did not happen again. Barbara put her face right up against Vivienne’s and told her: ‘Your day has come.’
Then she forced the noose roughly over her head, scraping Vivienne’s ears in the process. This was worse than any public execution. There were no last rites. No final request. Not even a hood to hide the fear.
Vivienne felt the prickly rope digging into her neck gently at first. Then Barbara yanked hard and the older woman started to choke.
Karen watched it all in a trance. It just did not seem real. It wasn’t really happening. Finally, they were getting the revenge they so dearly wanted. But it did not feel the way she expected it to. Karen felt numbed, not excited any more. Barbara pulled with all her might and tightened the knot holding the noose in place. Then she pulled the chair from right under her love rival and watched as Vivienne’s head twisted upwards. The rest of her body crumpled on to the greenhouse floor but her head and neck remained locked to one side. For a few seconds, spasms of life twitched through Vivienne’s body. Her head raged from side to side furiously. But that only made her death come quicker. It tightened the grip on her throat.
Barbara and Karen watched quietly as Vivienne gave up her fight to live. Barbara actually felt elated by the murder. It was as
