and undying devotion?”
    Without waiting for an answer,
Erika let herself out of Aiden’s suite and ran along the landing in
the direction of her own room, praying she didn’t bump into anyone
on the way.
    Her lips still tingled from
kissing Aiden and her skin thrilled at the echo of his touch, the
imprint of his hands on her breasts and thighs still vivid. Letting
herself into her suite, she leaned back against the door, breathing
as hard from the sex as from the run.
    The hot, masculine scent of
Aiden’s body lingered around her and the taste of him filled her
mouth, hijacking her senses.
Seducing Aiden had been the most
reckless, impulsive thing she’d ever done but every tingling,
satisfied inch of her told her it hadn’t been a mistake. She closed
her eyes, to replay the last half hour, unwilling to let it go a
second before she had to. But one final, enduring image made her
lips curve into a very satisfied smile.
    Aiden Thirstan, naked beneath
her, his hands pinned above his head and his eyes closed in ecstasy
as she made him come so hard he forgot to breathe.

Chapter Four

Erika thought the best way to
avoid both Aiden and Marty for the rest of the day was to spend it
being pampered in the ladies-only section of the spa, giving her
plenty of time to think – although she naturally found some
thoughts more welcome than others.
    In between the beauticians’
chatter, and stopping to sign autographs for fans, Erika found
plenty of space to mentally replay every second of her seduction of
Aiden a dozen times.
    She couldn’t stop herself
smiling every time she remembered a different touch, sensation or
moment of pleasure that made her blush uncontrollably. The taste of
salt on his skin as she’d run her tongue across his chest. His
total submission when she’d taken him in her mouth. The feeling of
completeness when she’d ground herself down onto him and brought
them both to climax.
For five long years she’d told
herself that Aiden’s body couldn’t be as hot, hard and sensual as
she’d remembered, and that the heights of pleasure he’d taken her
to had simply been a trick of her imagination.
Only now she knew that Aiden
Thirstan in the flesh – as it were – was the sexiest, horniest man
she’d ever known and, if anything, her fantasies had fallen short
of reality.
And furthermore, she’d be a liar
to say she wouldn’t jump into bed with him again, given half the
chance.
    Except next time, she’d perhaps
let Aiden join in.
After all, if his body was even
sexier than she’d remembered, it stood to reason that she’d perhaps
forgotten some of his many bedroom skills. He’d once been able to
bring her pleasure in a thousand different ways and turn every inch
of her body into one erogenous zone.
It would be a shame not to
refresh my memory, she thought.
    When her fantasies threatened to
get the better of her she closed the lid on them. Wasting her
precious thought processes on x-rated images of Aiden wouldn’t help
her solve the problem of Marty but strangely, here the decisions
came much more easily.
The stark reality was that she
needed to get out of the music industry before it killed her or, at
best, wrecked her voice. In Los Angeles, dashing from one
commitment to the next, she hadn’t had the time or the energy to do
more than exist from day to day. However, thirty-six short hours in
Yorkshire had been all she’d needed to clear her head, allowing her
to take a step back and see she had to disentangle herself from
Marty, no matter what it cost.
And she now knew it could cost
her everything.
    Panic tingled up her throat,
catching her heart and making it beat faster. You’re thinking too
far ahead, she told herself. Move slowly, start at the beginning
and take it one step at a time. Get some advice first and then see
where you stand.
This meant getting herself up to
London without Marty smelling a rat and, as Aiden had pointed out,
her appointment with the throat specialist
