Do not under estimate him Max.”
    “I won’t.”
“Max, mon coeur, we need to go,” Anna said as she came out of the cabin dressed in a v-neck pink tee and tight black jeans.
“I will take good care of her, Mr. Felidae,” I called over my shoulder as I hurried to open the door for Anna.
“Merci, Max,” Anna said with a smile.
I grinned back at her and climbed in the driver’s seat. “Tired?” I asked as I saw her hide a yawn.
    She laughed. “Only a little.”
“Good,” I said as I leaned over and kissed her smooth cheek. I wanted to pull the car over and give her a proper kiss, but I didn’t want us to be late.
Anna laughed as I turned onto the paved road and sped up. “We are not that late, mon coeur.”
I grinned and slowed the vette down below sixty. “True, but the faster we get there, the closer I get to kissing you.”
We arrived at school within minutes and hurried to class. We were making a habit of just beating the bell. I gave Anna a very quick kiss before we entered the room. As we passed by Steve’s desk I felt him reach out to me.
“Dude, did you finish that Algebra assignment?”
I glanced at my former best friend, I could feel the anger starting to burn my chest again, but I swallowed hard and clenched my teeth as I shook my head.
“Crap, I have it first period and I still have three more problems,” Steve replied. “Dude, you always have it done, you never slack on your homework, what the hell happened?” He grinned in a sly way. “Or let me guess… little Miss French accent is the reason you don’t have your work done… it’s cool…”
    Max… don’t do it…. You’ll get suspended…
I squeezed my fist, and walked on to my seat. Anna slid in to the seat behind me. I set her books on her desk and pulled out my Algebra to finish it. I couldn’t concentrate very well, but it didn’t matter. I just copied the problems down and figured I could get them done in English. Anna would share her notes with me. I smiled then as her soft lilting voice drifted into my thoughts.
Of course Max. I will take good notes. You can work on the math.
So … when are you going to tell me how this works? Do we really have to wait till Friday? I thought with a grin.
Oui, we have much more to work on before we can work on the mind to mind. I know Friday seems a long way away, but really it is only a few more days Max.
Are you sure? Cause I would really like to know how to keep Mom out of my thoughts … especially certain thoughts … I grinned. And perhaps there are some thoughts that you shouldn ’ t know either … I let my mind drift to thoughts of her curvy body pressed up against mine and what I would love to do to every delicious curve of her.
Max! She scolded me and I had to laugh.
I looked over my shoulder and watched a rosy blush steal up her neck to her pretty cheeks. She was breathing harder too and I wondered if she was adding her own thoughts to my little fantasy, but not sharing them. It was then that she smacked my back and told me to turn around before we got into trouble.
I would like to say that the rest of the day went on without any drama, but then that wouldn’t be the way life works. The mere fact that I was glued to the hip with Anna for the third day was enough to set tongues wagging. And then there was the incident in the parking lot with Jenny from the day before that was witnessed by more than a few people. By the time Anna and I walked into lunch everyone was in full on gossip mode. The cafeteria got strangely quiet as I picked up my tray, sloppy Joes and fries, paid for it and we sat down with Tony.
“Geez, you would think they had better things to talk about than my love life.”
Tony laughed. “You think? Dude, it’s worse than that. Someone is claiming they saw you and Anna macking on each other last night in front of your house. That you were all over her. Jenny is so pissed off she says you are making stories up about her and Steve to cover
