me.” I snarl. My jaw is tight, and I can feel the tension building within. This is about my family, not the money everyone stands to lose.
“I wasn’t talking about money, Nick. You are family. My boys, as well as my nephews, see you like a brother, whether you know this are not. You made the choices you have, but I think I can speak for most hidden parties when I say that we would have backed you if you took this to war a long time ago,” Joe says giving me a knowing look.
I had always believed that I could have smoothed things over with the Locatelli family and the O’Brien clan had I chosen to. At the time though I didn’t see the point in financially ruining so many people.
    I nod. “Thanks,” I mutter.
“You don’t have to thank me. Brooklyn will watch out for Sephora until we have a handle on this. I think Ry and Brax were too close. Let’s see if we can get this fucker to make a mistake,” Wyatt says.
“I need him found,” I huff.
“I know, Son. We are on it,” Joe reassures me.

That meeting did not go as I had planned. I was sure that Wyatt and his family would have found something for me to go on, over the last four weeks. They are the best at what they do.
Honestly, this is what concerns me the most. The son of a bitch has been out there watching our every move, but we have yet to pin him down. Kevin has exhausted his resources and those too, have a far reach.
I think I am going to have to break down and ask Sephora what she knows. As much as it kills me, it has become my last recourse. Her safety is important to me.
I enter the guest bedroom that I had converted into an office for Sephora, Kimmie, and even Regina, on days she comes to work at the house. It used to be the second master bedroom.
I stop in the doorway as I hear Sephora’s excited voice. She looks adorable in her glasses and a messy bun. She is wearing an off the shoulder grey sweatshirt and shorts. Her feet are tucked under her as she sits at one of the desks talking while on her laptop.
“This looks great, Mark. We could do so much with this platform. If you give me a few days I can work on the interface and have it back to you,” Sephora says excitedly.
“I want to tweak a few elements as well, so take your time. I mean it’s not like we are going to do anything with it,” Mark’s voice comes through the speakers on her tablet. I step into the room a little more to see they are on Facetime.
What catches my eye is the video game on Sephora’s laptop. The design is mind blowing and so clean. I’ve had a game or two shopped to me over the years, but I passed the opportunities by. They were never up to the standards I would be willing to put my name on.
“Hey, Nick,” Mark calls as he waves and alerts Sephora to my presence.
She had been so engrossed in the game on her screen that she hadn’t noticed me entering the room. I move behind her and place my hands on her shoulders. Bending, I kiss the top of her head.
“Hey, Mark, what are you two up to,” I ask as I take in more of the game.
Mark and I had a little sit down while Sephora was away planning the wedding. I know how much his friendship means to her. There is no need for him to sulk while breaking her heart over feelings she never requited and something that was never going to happen.
I just so happened to make sure that said meeting happened at Smoke and Sheets. Sephora was right, the waitress Bailey was interested in Mark, and once we had a few words to end his little obsession with Sephora, I gently pointed out Bailey’s interest.
Bailey is a gorgeous girl. She didn’t need much help from me. Once Mark gave her his attention he was a goner. I left the club certain that Mark and I had an understanding and that his time would be occupied by a certain curvy little waitress.
Mark definitely has a type. His type just isn’t allowed to be my wife anymore. I can handle their friendship because it makes
