her green eyes.
“Why did you leave me?” Aaron asked her.
She stared at him. He pulled her back into his arms.
“I’ll take you home,” he told her.
“No, no visitor at the boarding house,” she told him.
“We’ll go back to my room.”
“No, I’ll get fired.”
“Asia it doesn’t matter, I’m taking you home to Atlanta.”
“No, I can’t go back to Atlanta, Bass...”
“Bass is in prison,”
“My house?”
“Is boarded up.”
“No, I don’t want to Aaron, I’ll make a life here,” she stated firmly.
“Asia come back with me, I want you with me.” Aaron admitted to her.
“Why Aaron, because you feel sorry for me, I don’t want your pity.”
“It’s not pity Asia I care about you, I like being with you…”
“I’ll just ruin your life.” she interrupted.
“I want you with me Asia,” he repeated firmly. “Come on Asia, it cold out here lets go back to the room and talk,” he said holding out his hand.
She relented and took it holding on to his hand tightly. Her head lowered when she saw someone walking ahead of them coming towards them, she tensed holding onto his hand tighter, moving closer to him. Aaron squeezed her hand back. She looked up at him.
“Your safe Asia,” he said reassuringly.
They returned to his hotel suite, Asia saw the maid that told Aaron where she was in the hallway. She looked at Asia, smiled, and then looked at Aaron, scowling, giving him a warning look. Aaron opened the door letting Asia go in before him.
Aaron pulled her hat from her head and took her coat. She had on her usually large t-shirt and jeans, her hair in a ponytail hanging down her back. Aaron fingers felt the silkiness her hair. He inhaled absorbing her fresh scent, a scent that was hers and hers alone. She moved away and sat on the bed.
Asia glanced over at him. Her stomach gave a nervous lurch. How she wanted to feel his arms around her, making her feel safe for a little while longer, but she could not indulge herself in what she wished.
“Asia come back with me to Atlanta,” he told her bluntly.
“I can’t Aaron, there nothing but bad memories in Atlanta, here I can at least start over, maybe not be so afraid all the time.”
“Come back with me Asia.” Aaron repeated.
“Why Aaron, do you keep saying that,” she said frustration. “You have a life of your own, you have your family and friends, and your women, plus you won’t be around always,” she rose to get her coat. “Take me to my room please.”
“I’ll take you to your loft in Atlanta,” he stated firmly, his arms folded across his chest.
“Please Aaron don’t make me feel like this.”
He stepped closer to her. She stepped back. He frowned at her.
“Asia what wrong?” he asked looking into her bland dull green eyes. Aaron pulled her into his arms. She struggled and pulled away.
“Are you angry at me?’
“No, take me to my room.”
“Yes, you are.”
“No I’m not,” she denied. She wasn’t angry, how could she be, he had his life, he had no connection with her, she just didn’t want to be one of his many women.
Aaron cursed remembering she saw him with that woman.
“I did nothing with that woman or any other woman since you’ve been gone. I thought of you all the time, wondered if you were safe. When I didn’t find you after three months, I gave up, but I never stopped thinking about you Asia. I came to Macon with Wayne and Eddie for a public appearance, needing to get away to help me to forget you, but here you are.”
She put on her hat and coat and went to the door.
“That’s what you have to do Aaron,” she told him opening the door.
“Wait! Asia, I found you, damn it!” Aaron said anxiously closing the door.
“Aaron you owe me no loyalty, I’m nothing to you.” Aaron looked down at her and turned her to him, holding on to her arms.
“I will not let you go now that I’ve found you Asia, you need me.”
“No Aaron, I can’t need you.”
“Your mine
