house looked proper, she made sure she looked equally presentable. She fixed up the guest bedroom and put fresh towels in the bathroom. Micah was at practice and he gave her clear instructions to pick up his parents in an hour from LAX. She was nervous and wanted to bring Milan but she knew she had school and opted out of calling her. Meghan had went back to Miami and Sasha was in hiding, as usual. But she was the last person Minka would call anyhow.
Minka double parked and waited for Micah’s parents. She saw pictures, so she knew who to look out for. She was driving Micah’s 2014 Phantom Ghost and was trying not to scratch it with the crazy traffic at LAX. Minka spotted Micah’s parents and rushed out the car to help them with their bags.
“Hi , I’m Minka. Micah’s fiancé.” Minka extended her hand.
“Girl , get over here and give me a hug. Look at you! Damn, good body and pretty as a damn peach.” Sharlean hugged Minka. Minka was a little tense but relaxed at her touch. She reminded Minka of Harriet from Family Matters .
“Hi , I’m Charles. Nice to meet the future Mrs. Jackson.” Charles laughed as he also hugged Minka. Minka accepted his hug. Minka helped Micah’s parents put their luggage in the trunk and got in and started the car.
“Micah and his damn cars . This looks like a space ship.” Sharlean cackled while Charles examined the car, amazed.
“Baby girl, tell me about yourself. Where ya from and when am I gonna meet your parents?”
“I’m from Brooklyn, I graduated college majoring business, and I invested in stock so I live pretty well. My great-grandparents raised me, you will meet them pretty soon. They live in Florida, also.” She lied a little bit.
“Hun, I’m happy Micah has found someone to give me some damn grandbabies. And yes, hunnie, you will be stretching that cute little tight body of yours for some babies.” Sharlean slapped Minka’s thigh. Minka was really enjoying Micah’s parents she felt like she had known Sharlean all her life.

Chapter Sixteen

It had been weeks since Ashley had heard from Minka and she missed her friend. Ashley didn’t want to lose the one friendship she valued the most. She loved Minka like a sister and didn’t want her relationship with Juelz to interfere with her friendship with Minka.
Ashley sat in the nurse’s station at work, on Facebook, looking on Minka’s timeline to see if she had updated her status. She knew Minka wasn’t into social networks that much, she only updated her page once in a while. Ashley considered herself having a good day; Juelz surprised Ashland with tickets to Disney World this morning. They were leaving next week. She hadn’t been able to take Ashland anywhere since he was born, on behalf of being in school fulltime, plus once she started working she was working fulltime and couldn’t take the time off work. Ashley now had time to live life. She finally went to the club with her sister, Tamia, last week for girl’s night while Juelz and Ashland had a guy’s night at the house.
Tamia didn’t agree with the decision her sister made regarding the Juelz and Minka situation. Ashley felt she didn’t choose, she finally stood her ground and did what she wanted; which was to raise her son with both parents. Ashley never made Minka choose what she wanted to do in her private life. She just offered advice. Besides what Minka did was what Minka did; she didn’t judge. Ashley always offered her shoulder if things went wrong. Although a small part of Ashley felt Juelz was up to no good, she would never admit it.
Ashley was done with work for the day, she and Tamia had a shopping date. Juelz gave Ashley money to shop and Ashley planned on doing shopping and put the remainder of the money in her savings
