You might as well get ready to put his black ass on child support!” my mom said.
“Child support!  I don’t need to get the white people involved in this!  You will see that Ant loves me and he will take care of our baby!” I yelled back.
“You better watch your tone of voice young lady because I am still your mother and I will knock the skin off yo fuckin’ teeth!  Try me!” she said.
I knew my mom well enough to know she was not playing with me, but why couldn’t she just stay out of my business?  This was my life and I loved Ant, couldn’t she see that?
“Mom don’t you want me to be happy?” I asked.
“Happy?  Are you happy that the nigga you been giving your goodies to just walked out on your ass?  You really need to open your eyes and realize that nigga ain’t about shit!  He ain’t gonna be here for you and he sure ain’t gonna be here for that baby!” she yelled.
“Yes he will!  You will see and I can’t wait until he proves you wrong Mom!” I said.
“He ain’t gon prove me wrong Shaniqua!  Your “man” is an immature little punk ass nigga and he will not do shit for you or your baby!  Tomorrow we going to the doctor to see how far along yo ass is!  Now get the fuck out ma face before I smack the black off your ignorant ass!” she yelled and I ran the fuck up outta there like the devil was in ma ass.
I jumped up off the sofa and made my way to my room, slamming my bedroom door behind me.
“Nae don’t make me fuck you up behind my fuckin’ door!” my mom yelled.
“Ugh she makes me sick!” I said out loud but not loud enough for her to hear me though.  I wasn’t that crazy but she was and had she heard me she would have definitely ran up on my ass.  I prayed that Ant would be there for me just to prove my mom wrong.  When you’re young you tend to see the world through rose colored glasses and I would soon discover how cruel the world really was.

    CHAPTER TWELVE- ANTOINE

I left Shaniqua’s house not knowing what to think or how to feel.  I couldn’t believe she was pregnant!  How the hell could she be pregnant?  I called Shine and Luke to see what they were doing because I definitely needed to chill with my niggas right now.  Luke just happened to be at Shine’s crib so I went by my friend at the corner liquor store and purchased a gallon of Grey Goose because this definitely called for some alcohol.  I was gonna be a father; I needed to drink myself into a fuckin’ coma after that news.
I arrived and knocked on the door, walking in before they said come in.  That was just how we did shit out here.  We were brothers so I didn’t have to wait for them to say come in.  I walked in and I guess the expression I had on my face proved to be as distraught as I felt.
“Come in Man, wassup wit you?  You look like you just saw a ghost!” Luke said.
I walked in and went straight to his cabinet to get some glasses.  I poured us each some Goose and blurted out, “Shaniqua’s pregnant!”
I downed the drink, poured another and repeated my actions.
“What?  Are you serious?” Luke asked.
“Would I joke about some shit like that?” I asked.
I poured myself another drink as Shine asked, “How did you find out?”
“Get this, her mom called me!” I said.
“What the fuck?” Luke and Shine said at the same time.
“Yea her mom called my phone from her phone.  She like “you need to get yo ass over here before I call the po po on yo black ass!” I said mimicking Shaniqua’s mom.
“Oh snap, she threatened to call the
