This guardian angel knew what was going to happen in the future and knew that he needed to do something quick to prevent it.  How do you think guardian angels are able to see the future?”
Felix raised his hand.  “Do they have a crystal ball?” he asked.
    Everyone laughed.
“No,” chuckled Angelique.  “There are no crystal balls involved.”
A student raised his hand. “Yes, Christopher.”
“Are guardian angels capable of seeing the past, present and future?”
“No, we are not as powerful as God.  We cannot see all.”
    Another student raised her hand.
    “Yes, Lacey.”
“Are guardian angels gifted to see the past, present and future of their assignments?”
“Sometimes, if God gives them that knowledge, on their own they are not capable of seeing that.  Only God can see the past, present and future.  He, in turn, sends a message to the guardian angel before something is about to happen and lets then know about it.  The guardian angel receives the message and goes and does what he or she feels will be best in the situation.  It is our responsibility to watch over our assignments and when we receive messages about their future, we must do what we can to help them.  Sometimes we can see what is happening and do something about it right as it is occurring, as in the case of Budd and his broken parachute, but other times, it helps to know what can happen in the future and do something earlier to prevent it, as in Kerry's case.  You are now excused to go to your first-hour class.”

    Chapter 12

We floated to our next class. Walter floated to the front of the room.
“Today we will watch a few movies showing two different cases.  The first one will be Case A.
The lights went out and the movie began.  The scene opened with a young couple approaching a parked vehicle.  The young man, Steven, opened the car door for his sweetheart.  She got in and he shut the door and hopped over to his side of the vehicle.  He got in and turned on the engine.  As he put his foot on the accelerator, the engine cut out and stalled.  At that very moment a big truck whizzed by.  Had the engine not cut out, the young couple would have crashed right into the truck.
The lights came back on.  All right, now let's look at Case B.
A  young woman named Adeline, 17-years-old, was driving down a highway at 55 miles per hour.  She was driving home from working at a fast food restaurant.  All of a sudden a large poodle pranced onto the street right in front of her.  Terrified, she ran over the dog.  Her heart was pounding as she slowed down and turned into her housing subdivision.
The lights came on again and Professor Walter said, “Which case do you think the guardian angel used Mind instillation and which case did the angel use Controlling the Elements?
A freshman  raised his hand.  “Yes, Mark” said Angel Walter.
“I think the angel used mind instillation in the first case to get the driver to turn off the engine instead of going ahead.”
“No, that's not it,” said Angel Walter.  “Any other guesses?”
I raised my hand.  “Yes, Josie,” said Angel Walter.
“I think that the angel used controlling the elements to cut the engine in the first example.”
“Very good,” said Angel Walter.  “Now who wants to tell us what happened in the second example?”
    Kevin raised his hand.
    “Yes, Kevin,” said Angel Walter.
“In the second example, the guardian angel used mind instillation to get the driver to run over the dog rather than swerve into the other lane, which would've caused a serious accident.”
“Very good,” said Angel Walter.  “Now we will watch the scenarios with the guardian angels shown.”
The scenarios played out with the guardian angels shown.  The first angel used controlling the elements, and the second used mind instillation.
We walked toward the practice rooms where we were to meet for second hour, Controlling the Elements.
