family’s property again, Memphis would be making a call to report the
incident to the police. Brad had promised to stay away. He’d even promised to
let Tori champion the wolves if she wanted to. He’d no longer get in her way.
    Memphis put his arm across the back of the lawn chair Tori sat in
next to him and nibbled on her ear. “How about we get out of here?” he
whispered into it.
    She giggled. “Won’t that be rude? Since this is for us, after all.”
    “They won’t mind. We’re newly mated. It’s expected.”
    “Okay. I’ll race you.”
    Tori shot out of her chair and took off running into the trees in
the direction of their cabin. Memphis surged to his feet. He looked at his
family and shrugged before he went wolf and took off after his mate. The sound
of his pack’s laughter followed him as he gave chase.
    He spotted Tori up ahead, but didn’t try to catch her. He’d let her
arrive at their cabin first. Even though he’d lose, he’d still win. He’d have
his mate in his arms and in his bed, exactly where she belonged.
